Diego Pablo Simeone was pleased with the team's win and Julian Alvarez's debut in a goal that the Atletico boss believes will give the whole team peace of mind for the remainder of La Liga.

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone said on Sunday after the 3-0 win over Valencia that "everyone" in the Rojiblanco side needed "a goal" from Julian Alvarez, as demonstrated by "the way the teammates celebrated" and how people "shouted" the Argentinian's goal in the stands.
"It speaks for itself how important it was. We all needed him to score a goal, for him to be calmer and to relate to what he likes, which is scoring goals. Hopefully, it will be the first of many," Simeone told the press conference.
"I'm not inside Julian, nor was I a striker, but I imagine, putting myself in his place, that he lives from the goal and the enthusiasm that this type of situation generates. He appeared as he always appears, at the exact moment, in a play that seemed to be fading and suddenly the players who are prepared to be in the right place, in the sector they had to be in, luckily scored," he added.
The 1-0 was scored by Conor Gallagher. "A hard-working player, with quality, a good second-line finisher, who recovers balls, who doesn't stop giving his maximum in every situation of the game, who participates sometimes doing better and sometimes not, perhaps. He has come with a lot of enthusiasm and we need this type of player in the middle of the pitch because they undoubtedly make us better," said Simeone.
Atletico have now gone four games without conceding a goal. "I watch a lot of football and I watch almost every game that is played. Except for City or Barcelona, few teams press high with the high line and try to defend in that position on the pitch, the majority, 80, 90%, take refuge. Each team looks for what suits them best according to the players they have," said the Colchonero boss.
