La Liga president Javier Tebas spoke about the Munuera Montero affair at the premiere of the documentary that will be released this month about Leganes. The head of the employers' association agreed with the way in which the RFEF has proceeded and confessed that he has instructed the organization he heads to do the same, to investigate whether the referee's business dealings result in a conflict of interest with his work in the championship.

La Liga president Javier Tebas stressed on Tuesday that referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero “is not providing services to La Liga because we would not consent to it”, although he acknowledged that he is not amused that someone who provides services to La Liga has a partnership with a referee.
“It is not Munuera's company, but the company of a partner of his that provides services to La Liga, but Munuera is not providing services to La Liga because we would not consent to it. I don't find it very funny that someone who provides services to La Liga has a partnership with a referee, but that does not imply anything else and I want to insist that Munuera is not providing services to La Liga or to UEFA or to anything else”, said Tebas at the premiere of the documentary ‘Suena Leganés: un equipo campeon’, which reviews last season, in which the ‘Pepinero’ team was promoted to the La Liga.
“We are investigating and I think it is very good what the RFEF has done and it is the right thing to do. We are going to see how everything is,” he added. Likewise, referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero issued, on Tuesday, a statement in which he announces that he will exercise “the corresponding civil and criminal actions against those media that, in an intentional or reckless manner, have spread falsehoods or incorrect or biased information” about him.
The Regulatory Compliance Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is analysing, as of Tuesday, the information regarding the La Liga referee, “as indicated by the codes of good governance”, as reported to 'EFE' by the federation, and, until the procedure is not completed, the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) will not assign matches to him. 'AS' published, on Tuesday, that the RFEF “is studying whether the private business of the referee is incompatible with refereeing due to a possible conflict of interest”.
Jose Luis Munuera Montero points out, in his note, that “in recent months, the disproportionate attack on the refereeing collective has become evident” and that, “on this latest occasion”, he is “the protagonist”. He also explains that the company 'Talentus Sports Speakers', in which he participates, “has not invoiced, since its creation, any amount to any sports entity, whether clubs, federations or companies in the sports industry”.
