Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone regretted that the game against Alaves "was more for a draw than a defeat" and acknowledged that his team went into the game "with a lower tempo".
The Argentinian explained in a press conference that "the first half passed with few chances, a lot of intensity from them" and highlighted their opponents' pressing to not allow them to generate play.
"The second half we played with a different intensity," he said and warned that they have to be aware that they are going to live this week "with criticism and different opinions due to the results".
He stressed that they have improved away from home in the last two games and said they should focus on what is important for the team in a week that will not be simple.
"We hope to solve the problems in the three remaining away games. With so little time left we have to focus on what's important at the moment," said the 'Colchoneros' coach, who did not hide his happiness at the performance of his son, Giuliano Simeone.
"He played a good game with strength, aggression and intensity and hopefully it will allow him to have a better end to the season," he said.
Asked about the defensive identity that the team has lost this season, he said that they need time, but assured that they will get back to their defensive level.
