Brazil coach Dorival Junior is clear that the ‘Selecao’ have a lot of room for improvement. The coach, speaking ahead of the match against Paraguay, assured that his team is improving, but that they still have a long way to go to offer the fans a quality ‘show’.

After their 1-0 win over Ecuador, Brazil coach Dorival Junior said on Monday that they do not expect to put on ‘a show’ when they face Paraguay on Tuesday in the eighth matchday of South American qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
"There is no point in creating false expectations in the fans. We're not going to put on a show from one day to the next," the coach told a news conference in the Paraguayan city of Luque.
The Brazilian indicated that it takes time to put on a good show, but he was confident that his group is heading in the right direction. "I see progress as a team, not in terms of the quality of the performance. As a team we are finding our way," said Dorival Junior, who stressed that his players are 'stronger' and 'more aggressive' in winning the ball back.
In that sense, he was pleased that the ‘Selecao’ have improved, although he acknowledged that 'details are missing close to the opponent's box’ or some individual play that can unbalance the opponent, details that he considered fundamental and that 'perhaps have not happened until now'.
The coach talked about the little training time prior to the match against Ecuador, which they beat 1-0 last Friday, and mentioned that on Sunday and Monday the Brazilians have dedicated to their recovery and light work. "It's what we have," he said.
