Spain midfielder Fabian Ruiz, who scored one of the five goals in his side's win over Northern Ireland at the Son Moix Stadium, lamented that the team had to come from behind in the opening minutes of the game.
"We have to come out more focused in the first half. But you have to take the team's attitude to turn the score around. We know the potential we have, especially up front, where there is a lot of quality and a very high level," said the Paris Saint-Germain player.
Fabian insisted that friendly matches are "about correcting mistakes", such as the ones that led to Northern Ireland taking the lead. "Mistakes can cost you games. That's why we have to focus more on the defensive side. In the European Championship, goals like that count for a lot," he said.
The international also commented on the performance of his teammate Pedri. "We have no doubts about the player Pedri is, he is one of the best midfielders in the world. We know the quality he has and we are sure he will help us a lot.
"We are very happy that he is here with us. It's wonderful to see him playing football. I'm very happy for him, for his two goals and the confidence it will give him."
