Barcelona coach Hansi Flick was “very happy” with Sunday's “well-deserved” win against Girona in Montilivi (1-4) and pointed out that his team had “many chances to score one or two more goals”.
Flick recalled that the season has just begun, but celebrated that his players played “very well, very focused from the start” and put “incredible” pressure on the ball.
The German coach emphasized that in these first five rounds of La Liga EA Sports has seen his players compete “with confidence, united and compact”. And he was also satisfied with “the quality and intensity” of the training sessions and matches.
He acknowledged being “very happy” about the goals scored by Lamine Yamal, a player who does not usually score because “he always makes the last pass”, and said that Dani Olmo, who was substituted with discomfort on the hour mark, will undergo tests on Monday to find out if he has an injury.
Regarding the refereeing, after a match that ended with the sending off of Ferran Torres and a penalty in favour of Girona for hands by Inigo Martinez that the referee did not call at the behest of the VAR, Flick said that the referees “have a difficult job” and that he has no reason to complain in these first five rounds of La Liga.
