Xavi Hernandez's continuity at the helm of Barcelona for next season has been the news of the week. Sporting director Deco spoke about it at half-time of the Valencia game on 'DAZN' on Monday.
"In Xavi's case, we are renewing him because we are counting on him. He has seen enthusiasm and that important things can be done," he began.
The Portuguese also categorically denied that they wanted to stop counting on Oscar Hernandez: "It's a lie that we wanted to sack Oscar Hernandez, I don't understand where this is coming from."
Something that Rafa Yuste also maintained in the pre-match press conference: "In the press conference that Xavi did with the president, he was 100% with his technical staff. It is clear that we all have to improve and the union must be granite.
"Since the day he told us he didn't want to continue he has seen the affection he has from the members and he has seen that the players want to continue in this project."
