Enzo Maresca said on Saturday after the FA Cup defeat to Brighton that Chelsea do not miss Joao Felix, who has moved to AC Milan on loan, despite their ongoing injury crisis in the attacking department.

Enzo Maresca endured a hectic final day of the January transfer window as he was handed a double injury blow in attack on top of Joao Felix's departure on loan to AC Milan. The Portuguese forward's switch came just months after the Blues spent £45m to sign him on a permanent deal from Atletico Madrid, with Felix signing a seven-year deal.
Despite being without Nicolas Jackson (hamstring) and Marc Guiu (groin) due to injuries picked up in the 2-1 win over West Ham last week, the Italian manager insisted Chelsea do not miss Felix. "I don't think we miss Joao. He's happy there (AC Milan) and we're happy that he's happy," Maresca told reporters after the 2-1 defeat to Brighton in the FA Cup.
"Two injuries on the last day of the transfer window. It's a tough one. Nico (Jackson) could be back soon. Sometimes I think we need to play a few games without certain players to realise their importance," he added, highlighting the Senegalese striker's importance upfront. Maresca’s latest comments come just days after he explained why Felix was allowed to leave Stamford Bridge mid-season.
"Nothing happened,” the Chelsea boss said. “As I said before, the players train every day and have the ambition to play every game, but unfortunately they can only play in 11. We decided, all together, that the best option was for him to leave. Did he ever complain about the lack of use? No, he never complained. He was always very professional with us. It was just my decision. I've said it several times, we need to have defensive balance and when you have so many attacking players, sometimes you can concede transitions or goals to the opponents and I don't like that."
While Maresca claims that Chelsea are doing just fine without him, Felix has enjoyed a dream start to life in Italy. The 25-year-old came off the bench to score on his debut with the 'Rossoneri' during their 3-1 win over Roma in the Coppa Italia, earning him his first start in Serie A as Milan cruised to a 2-0 victory against Empoli.
