Barcelona will take on Porto in a Champions League group stage match on Tuesday and further progress in Europe's top competition is a challenge for them despite being one of the favourites to lift the trophy this season.
Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez held a press conference on Monday to dispel doubts about the potential of his squad after his side's 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
"It's a very important game [against Porto] for us. We have a good chance of finishing top of the group. We're looking forward to it, we're waiting for our fans, we need them more than ever and hopefully it will be a magical night," he told reporters.
The former Barcelona player also spoke about his team's current situation in the Spanish top-flight and his expectations for the upcoming matches: "We would be much calmer if we weren't four points behind the leaders. We've been unlucky with the refereeing but that's no excuse."
He went on to add: "We have to play better. But we've also been wronged by refereeing mistakes. So far, we've been unlucky."
