"We have only scored one goal so far" - Ancelotti annoyed with Real's first-half performances

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti celebrated his team's improved performance in their 4-1 win over Espanyol in a "very complete match" and said that little by little they are reaching their best version.
The Italian coach made public what he told his players before the game, annoyed that they have only scored one goal in the first halves of their games this season. It led to an improvement in the performance but no goals against Espanyol in the first half despite six shots on target.
"In this season there is one fact that must be highlighted: we have scored only one goal in the first halves of the matches. I discussed this with the players before the game to change this dynamic. We didn't score, but it was a much more intense first half than in previous games," he said.
Real Madrid have now gone a year without losing in La Liga, with 38 consecutive matches celebrated by their coach. "It's a very good statistic that confirms that this team has done well, is doing well and is going to do very well’.
