Liverpool have a big European fixture on Thursday night in the Europa League against Italian side Atalanta at Anfield. Ahead of the game Reds captain Virgil van Dijk spoke in an interview for the club and urged the team to make the most of a big European night. "A European night at Anfield against a top side from Italy in springtime is definitely something to get excited about."
The centre-back wants to put the frustration of last week's Premier League result against Manchester United behind him and move on. "I know everyone, including myself, was disappointed that we didn't win at Old Trafford on Sunday, but the situation also requires some perspective."
"We are still joint-top of the Premier League on points, we have one trophy in the bag and another to play for in this competition. The key now is to carry on giving all that we have on both remaining fronts."
The 32-year-old said the team will continue to give their all on the "remaining fronts", while also acknowledging that there are things they need to improve on if they are to achieve their goals.
Liverpool remain alive in the Premier League title race, level on points with Arsenal and still have a chance of European silverware before Jurgen Klopp's departure at the end of the season.
