Real Madrid and Manchester City will decide who reaches the final of the Champions League at the Ethiad stadium. The first leg ended 1-1, so it's all to play for in the second.
Before the game against Everton in the Premier League, Guardiola spoke about the face-off against Madrid. He gave credit to Rudiger for keeping Haaland from scoring.
"Congratulations to Rudiger, but Erling Haaland is 22 years old, let's not forget. It was his first time playing in the semi-finals of the Champions League" he commented.
The head of the Cityzens believes that, given more experience, Haaland will grow into these big fixtures. "To go to the Bernabeu for the first time, in one of the biggest spectacles, against a top club, with good defenders, midfielders, forwards ... next time will be a bit easier", he continued.
He admitted that if the Norwegian didn't score, he wasn't the only one to blame: "If the team could play a bit better in other areas, maybe it would make it easier for him".
Regarding the possibility of winning the Champions League and the Premier League, the coach made it clear that they were both important for different reasons. "The Premier League title is very important, but I know the Champions League is very special. It has been an incredible effort over many months with many difficult games. At the end of the day, it's a privilege. The club looks after us and we have to be prepared to try", he finished.
