Aurelien Tchouameni, scorer of Real Madrid's winner in Mallorca (0-1) that keeps the La Liga leaders firmly in the lead, admitted that they are "a little bit tired" after the Champions League match against City and four days before the return leg at the Etihad, in which he assured that they will "give everything until the end".
"We knew that coming to play Mallorca was very difficult, but we played a good game. We could have scored more goals to have a more comfortable win, but in the end we took the three points and we're very happy," he said on Real Madrid TV.
"There is a very important game for us against City on Wednesday, but we had to be focused on this one which was not easy. We've come from a very difficult game and we're a little bit tired, but playing for Real Madrid you have to give everything on the pitch until the end. We did that and we won," he added.
Tchouameni acknowledged that his goal was the result of practice in training and defended the quality of the 'Merengues' squad to decide evenly matched games.
"I know I can shoot, we worked hard on it in training and the goal came. I'm very happy. It's quality and training. It's something I work on a lot. I did it on Saturday and if we keep working like this, doing what we know how to do, we have to continue until the end because we have the chance to win many games and titles," he said.
"We have a very important squad, with a lot of quality, and we know that in the end a player shows his qualities and scores a goal that gives the team three points," he added.
Finally, he looked ahead to an important week for Madrid: "Let's go for City, we say all the time that it's the most important game of the season, like against Barcelona in the Super Cup final, but there are many important games. We know that the one at the Etihad is and then 'El Clasico'. We are in the final stretch and they are all important".
