Spain winger Nico Williams has said after his side's 5-1 win over Northern Ireland at the Son Moix stadium that he and his teammates will give "everything" at the European Championship which starts next week in Germany.
"We are 100% focused on the European Championship and hopefully that work will give the results we expect. It took us a little while to get into the game and I think the opener was a turning point for us to have a fantastic first half," said the Athletic Club Bilbao player.
Nico Williams was delighted with the opportunity given to him by head coach Luis de la Fuente when he was named in the starting line-up for the friendly against Northern Ireland.
"The coach decides whether I should play from the start or not. I'm always happy to contribute. In the two friendlies we've played very physical games against opponents who are very withdrawn. And those situations can happen again at the European Championship," he said.
Regarding his friendship with Lamine Yamal, and the danger they both create on the flanks, Nico Williams said they are "very good friends".
"Yes, we try to beat our markers in one-on-one situations. He's very good, I tell him to be calm because he's only 16. At the European Championship there will also be very good wingers, like Kylian (Mbappe) and Dembele in the France team," said the Spain winger.
