Atletico Madrid captain Koke Resurreccion said, after losing to Osasuna (1-4), that neither the fans nor they deserved "an ending like that", with that defeat at the Metropolitano.
"I don't give myself marks, nor do I give marks to the team. That's tiring. We have to improve on the away game. The marks thing is for you. We'll go to San Sebastian to win the game, even if there's nothing at stake," he added.
"It was a shame. We were coming off the back of a spectacular season at home and neither the fans nor ourselves deserved this. Football is like that. We weren't intense at the start and they came out of the game better. Then they scored their chances and we couldn't score ours. The most positive thing is that we were good at home, despite today's result. That's what we have to take into account for next season and improve on the away game", explained the player.
On a possible call-up to the national team for the European Championship, he said he is not hopeful. "I haven't been called up to the national team for two years and the truth is that I have no hope. I am very well at my club and with my coach. I'm planning my holidays with my wife. If the national team then calls me we'll see, but the truth is that I have no hope".
Asked about Savic and his possible departure from Atletico this season, he said: "We'll have to ask him. He's in a complicated situation, but it's up to him to say whether he continues or not".
