Aleix Garcia has become a key player for Girona after an unexpectedly superb season for the Catalan side, who have qualified for next season's Champions League campaign.
The Spanish midfielder, who spent several years in Manchester City's academy, scored three goals and provided six assists in 40 competitive games for Girona in the 2023/24 campaign.
The 26-year-old is now in the spotlight as several clubs have made moves for his services in recent weeks. German champions Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly reached a verbal pre-agreement with the player to join coach Xabi Alonso's future plans.
Nonetheless, the German club are not the only ones interested. According to 'The Guardian', West Ham, who are currently being mentored by new manager Julen Lopetegui, are keen to enter the race for his transfer.
The Hammers want to fill the void left by Declan Rice in the midfield last season with a player who can perform at the highest level.
