Bernardo Silva analysed the match awaiting Man City in the semifinals against Real Madrid after the win against Leeds in the Premier League. The player stated his team would be "stupid" not to show respect for the newly anointed winners of the Copa del Rey.
On Tuesday, 'Marca' brought to light a curious comment from the Portuguese international after his team were knocked out of the Champions League this time last year at the Bernabeu. It seems, the footballer was trying to ingraciate him with the Spanish side.
"Tell Florentino to sign me, tell him I want to play here", was the comment published by the outlet, supposedly made by Silva to a Madrid player after the match.
Furthermore, it seems the player's comments reached the ears at the head of Real Madrid, but the club's eyes have always been on younger talent with big potential.
Currently, his agent Jorge Mendes, has been pushing for him to start a new stage of his career, with clubs like Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG paying attention to the possible move.
What's more, Bernardo was close to becoming a part of Barcelona's side but the financial troubles the club have been going through, it seems that deal is off the table.
