Former United player Gordon Strachan spoke to 'CasinoSite' about Antony. For him, this player, questioned for his footwork on the ball, has things in common with Cristiano Ronaldo, although the Portuguese was at a much higher level.

Cristiano Ronaldo is already history at Manchester United. The player terminated his contract midway through the 2022-23 season and headed for Al Nassr, where he is not doing as well as he had hoped.
Former Red Devils Gordon Strachan believes that Antony, currently playing for United, is very similar to the Portuguese's game. "Antony kind of reminds me of Ronaldo, although it’s never nice to throw another name in the mix. He seems to think he is, but I don’t think he’s anywhere near as good as Cristiano," he told 'CasinoSite'.
Strachan revealed that when Cristiano started at United, they made it clear to him what he had to do at the club. "When Ronaldo first got there, at that point you had people in the team who would tell Ronaldo the truth and say ‘excuse me, we don’t want you dancing about when you can cross it in earlier! Use your ability to get in good areas and produce something. We’re not here to see you," he commented.
The legendary former player believes Sir Alex Ferguson and legends such as Roy Keane and Scholes warned Cristiano on how he needed to adapt. "He understood what they wanted from him and he became this once in a lifetime player, well apart from Messi, of course, this unbelievable player.
He stressed that he doesn't think "Antony can get anywhere near where Ronaldo" and encouraged him to ask himself a question. "I think he should ask himself: 'am I doing this for myself or am I doing it for the team?’ If you’re genuinely doing it for the team then fine. If you’re doing it for yourself then cut it out. The last couple of weeks we’ve seen magical things from him [Antony] but sometimes when life’s not great you have to be a good teammate first."
