Enzo Maresca has sent a clear message to Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix, expecting them to make the most of the opportunities they're given, as they were included in Chelsea's starting XI for the game against Panathinaikos in the Conference League on Thursday.
The pair have struggled to feature for Chelsea due to the squad's star-packed roster. Maresca has been juggling the minutes of the players, making various key-decision as a means to give everyone in the team space to play. The Italian boss has left out the likes of Palmer and Fofana from the European competition entirely - they have been starting the league games instead.
"We try to work with Misha everyday," said Maresca during the press conference ahead of the game. "Hopefully he can get better, and better. It's more or less similar to Joao. They're doing well, but the thing is that at the moment there are also other players who are doing well."
However, with minutes from kick off, Maresca is now asking the two to not make him regret his decision. "The important thing at the moment is for him, and for the rest, is that when they get the chance they take it," he concluded. Chelsea will look to make it two consecutive wins in the Conference League after a positve 4-2 against KAA Gent in matchday one.
