City took another step closer to the Premier League title on Sunday. The Cityzens beat Everton 0-3 with incredible goals from Erling Haaland and Ilkay Gundogan, the latter scoring a double. The German had a phenomenal game, and Pep was asked about the player's future in the press conference.
The coach from Santpedor did not shy away from the issue facing the club, namely that one of their best players hasn't renewed his contract yet, which expires at the end of next June. Barcelona are closely following the star, and could offer him the next chapter in his career.
"No one knows what's going to happen, best case scenario, he stays. We hope so", stated the Catalan, who was also full of praise for the footballer: "Gundogan has repeatedly shown his quality and dedication. He's not only scored goals, he has drive. Against Leeds, he was the man of the match and he has done so again".
Barcelona are the best-placed to try and get the German midfielder onside. 'Mundo Deportivo' reported recently that the player could lower his demands in order to sign with the Spanish side, who are offering him a contract for three seasons.
