The race for this year’s Premier League title is hotting up, and it’ll be interesting to see which team comes out on top.

Liverpool currently lead the way, although the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal in particular are hot on their tail heading into some crucial matches in the Premier League calendar, which could decide which direction the title heads in this term.
Liverpool have been inundated with injury problems in the second-half, and it’s a credit to the job that Jurgen Klopp is doing with a young squad, as he’s certainly making do with what he has at his disposal. Arsenal are the form team at this moment in time, and their supporters will be eager to see them build on some strong showings of late, which include thrashings of both West Ham United and Burnley.
Whereas Manchester City haven’t been at their consistent best, and have been left to rue missed opportunities to return to the summit, with the most notable coming in a draw with Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium. Erling Haaland was guilty of missing plenty of chances in that stalemate, and Pep Guardiola will be keen to see his star striker return to form at the earliest of opportunities.
Haaland missed the majority of the festive period due to an injury problem, but returned to the team not so long ago. The Norwegian international has scored 17 goals in this year’s Premier League campaign, which certainly isn’t as convincing as the 2022/23 season. Mohamed Salah, Ollie Watkins, Dominic Solanke, and Jarrod Bowen are all closely following Haaland in the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot, and some of those players might fancy their chances of catching Haaland for the award.
MyBettingSites have revealed that Haaland has attempted 82 shots at goal this season, and with 17 of those finding the back of the opposition net, there’s certainly work to do on this front moving forwards. Ollie Watkins is at number two for the most shots attempted in the 2023/24 Premier League season, as the Aston Villa forward has had 80 attempts at goal so far this term. It’s worth remembering that Haaland has been out of action for a brief period of time, but he’s still managed to have the most shots out of all the players in the Premier League to date.
With Manchester City heading into their final 12 matches of this year’s league campaign, Guardiola will be keen to see Haaland back to his best in the near future, as his form in front of goal could decide which way the Premier League title goes. It’s an interesting conversion rate for Haaland, as City are often on the front foot in matches, but with the ‘low block’ that opposition teams operate against them, it’s intriguing to see Haaland still having the most attempts at goal.
Ollie Watkins will be hoping that he can continue to build on some hugely impressive performances for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, and if he can do just that, then it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see Watkins earning his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming European Championships.
The same could be said for Jarrod Bowen, who seems to be making a creditable late push for a place in the squad, as he netted an impressive hat-trick against Brentford in a 4-2 win at the London Stadium not so long ago. However, the golden boot race seems to be between Haaland and Salah, and whichever one comes out on top, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see their team win the Premier League title.
