Real Madrid's Brazilian striker Rodrygo Goes regretted the mistakes made by his team that cost goals in the 3-3 draw against Manchester City and acknowledged that they failed in actions that cannot be missed in a big European duel.
"We wanted to win, to come away from the first game with a positive result. We drew because we failed to concede goals that we couldn't concede. We have to train now this week and prepare for the second leg," he said on 'Movistar Liga de Campeones'.
"It's always difficult to start losing early, but we came back, we could control the game a bit more on the counter-attacks, they moved the ball form flank to flank, but we generated a lot of danger. In the end it is what it is and we are focused on next week," he added.
Rodrygo highlighted Carlo Ancelotti's tactical surprise, playing on the left flank and giving freedom of movement to his compatriot Vinicius.
"They didn't expect me to play on the left, where Vinicius always plays. Today we did it differently, with a new tactic. It didn't go well because of the result, but we're already thinking about next week," he said.
"We knew that (shots from outside the box), we had to close down early and we failed there. It's up to us to win there. It's all for the second leg. Whoever misses the least at the Etihad will go through.
