Barcelona have found their Marc-Andre Ter Stegen replacement as Wojciech Szczesny is set to come out of retirement to join the 'Azulgrana'. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the club have convinced the Polish international to reconsider his decision to hang up his boots, and sign a contract that will tie him to Catalunya for one year.
The former Juventus goalkeeper, thus replaces the injured Ter Stegen, after the latter sustained an injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season, completing the goalkeeper line-up for Barcelona alongside Inaki Pena.
Medical tests will reportedly take place in Spain in the next days for Szczesny, who is back in action after announcing his retirement at the end of the 2023/2024 season, and will join compatriot Robert Lewandowski in Barcelona.
Keylor Navas and Claudio Bravo were initially reported as potential replacements, however, Barca decided to throw themselves at Szczesny once the goalkeeper gave his green light for the move.
