Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez said on Wednesday, after the 1-0 win over Porto in the Champions League, that the team need to "improve their game", but that they took three points.
Barcelona's win means they are now sole leaders of Champions League Group H, which they share with Porto, Shakhtar and Antwerp.
"We had a lot of difficulties: Robert Lewandowski's injury, being down to ten men because of Lamine Yamal's illness.... But it's Porto, we're at their home and we've competed well," the Catalan coach said.
He stressed that his team has "6 golden points without conceding goals in the first 2 games" and facing "significant absentees", such as Frenkie de Jong, Pedri and Raphinha.
On the match, he detailed that Barcelona played "a pretty good first half, perhaps with too many losses", and asserted that they lacked "more control in the second half".
One of the keys to the game was the injury to Lewandowski, who was replaced in the 34th minute by Ferran Torres, who scored the only goal of the game and his fourth goal of the season. "Robert suffered a serious knock to his ankle. We'll see if we can have everyone available on Sunday," said Xavi in reference to the upcoming La Liga game against Granada.

Yamal also had to be replaced, leaving the field in the 81st minute for Marcos Alonso. "Lamine was feeling unwell. He had a tummy ache and we took advantage of the fact that the game was stopped," said the coach.
The Catalan team were shown six yellow cards in the course of the match - not counting the one shown to Xavi - and, in second-half stoppage time, were reduced to ten men for a double caution to Gavi.
"I am passionate. I live the game, I protest, I get angry... It's difficult to change," Xavi said of his caution.
