Having not made the most of several opportunities to take the title early, Barca finally got their hands on the trophy, beating Espanyol 2-4 to win La Liga.
The 'Cule' squad added another trophy to case after beating Real Madrid to win the Spanish Super Cup at the start of 2023. The team celebrated their La Liga on and off the pitch, with the champion's parade making its way through the streets of Barcelona on Monday.
Barcelona hadn't won La Liga in four years. There were many entertaining photos from the celebrations, including one in which Pedri pointed to Ansu Fati while part of the fans chanted the name of the Tenerife native.
The number '10' has slightly lost momentum with Barca and could be one of the first to leave this summer, as the club need to follow through on some big sales to reach the targets laid out in their viability plan. 'Sport' reported that the club continue to work towards these goals, in order to obtain the league authorities' approval.
Xavi Hernandez on his part, in order to streamline the process, will speak this week with the players who won't make the cut. The coach will be blunt with them and will ask them to leave the club, as otherwise they'll see themselves relegated to the bench.
The same outlet reported that Barcelona will prioritise the departures of the players who have played the least, like Ferran Tores, Ansu Fati, Kessie and Jordi Alba. These four will have free rein to entertain offers and could leave before the end of June.
The Spanish side is working looking towards next season and knows that they'll have to drop some players before they can reinforce the squad. They are keeping Messi, Gundogan and Inigo Martinez in mind. The game is about to begin.
