FC Barcelona is surrounded by a new controversy every day. The latest, according to 'Jijantes', were some insults from Raphinha to Oscar Hernandez after being substituted in the match against Valencia on 29th April.
However, Xavi's staff have come out to deny these insults, reports 'Sport'. The coaching staff explained to the Catalan media that there was anger on the part of the Brazilian when he was substituted, but that at no time were there any insulting words from the player towards the assistant coach.
The winger's substitution in the following game against Girona was not a punishment from Xavi to the player either. Jijantes' also revealed that, after the clash between Raphinha and Oscar Hernandez, the Catalan coach had decided that the Brazilian would start from the bench in the next match.
FC Barcelona play their final home game of the season against Rayo Vallecano and do so with more doubts than certainties. Xavi's continuity was announced, but is now in doubt. The Catalan tried to take the heat off the matter in a press conference, but it is not known who will be at the helm of the team in the 2024-25 season.
