Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has had superb performances that have helped the Gunners in the race for the Premier League title. The 30-year-old is a key player for Mikel Arteta as he has scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 45 competitive matches.
Nonetheless, it seems that their paths are going to part. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Swiss midfielder will not renew his contract and will leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.
The same media outlet reports that Bayer Leverkusen are negotiating with the former Monchengladbach player to join in the next transfer window for 15 million euros and their talks are at an advanced stage.
As a result, the Gunners will have to replace Xhaka next campaign and Declan Rice is the main contender for the board and the Spanish manager.
