Sad news for the Gunners. Granit Xhaka will play his last game for Arsenal on Sunday against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Swiss midfielder will not renew his contract and will leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old is expected to join Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen in the next transfer window. The same media outlet reports that final details of the new deal will be revealed next week.
However, Mikel Arteta has refused to give details about his departure: "Personally, for me, he has been crucial. Really, really important at every level and I think for the team and at the club as well.
"But I cannot talk and I won’t talk about the future of any player. We have to wrap up the season and then we will plan the following season," he said.
