Barcelona expect the new Spotify Camp Nou to have a capacity of 104,000 spectators, making it the largest stadium in Europe and the fifth largest in the world, and will generate a minimum annual revenue of 347 million euros when it is fully operational for the start of the 2026/27 season.
At a press conference held at Auditori 1899, Barcelona's vice-president of the institutional area Elena Fort, director of operations Joan Centelles and technical director of operations Lluis Moya, outlined the status of the works.
Club spokespeople reaffirmed the club's plan to return to the Spotify Camp Nou in December, with a minimum capacity of 64,000 spectators. All indications are that the first match, at 60% capacity, would be at the end of December 2024.
The last match scheduled for 2024 is a Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid match to be played on the weekend of 21-22 December. On the previous matchday Barcelona will also play at home, in this case against Leganes.
The club hope to have completed the entire structure by August 2025, put the VIP lounges into use at the start of the 2025/26 season and open the third tier to the general public partially during the course of the season with the ultimate aim of having the stadium at full capacity for the start of the 2026/27 campaign.
