Lamine Yamal revolutionised Barcelona at Montilivi. The young home-grown player stole the ball from David Lopez near the Girona penalty area and, with his left foot, scored confidently in front of Gazzaniga to make it 0-1. Shortly afterwards, Lamine himself made it 2-0.

Barcelona had started the game very well against Girona. Hansi Flick's side controlled the tempo of the game and had threatened Gazzaniga's goal on occasion, but the most important thing was missing: a goal. However, on the half-hour mark, the Azulgrana side put two goals past them thanks to their big star: Lamine Yamal.
The young Azulgrana youth academy player came up with a stellar performance to put the game on track in the blink of an eye for the Barcelona side. He did so with two goals with his left foot, albeit in two very different moves.
A few seconds before the half-hour mark, the Spanish international took advantage of a mistake by David Lopez to rob the ball from him as he tried to come out with it from the back. The young ‘Cule’ player recovered the ball on the edge of the Girona box, turned and faced Gazzaniga, who could not prevent Lamine Yamal from scoring with a powerful finish.
With barely time for Girona to assimilate the blow, Lamine Yamal popped up again to make it 0-2. On this occasion, the EURO champion picked up a ball from the edge of the box after a free-kick and the winger, in between several Girona defenders, put the ball into the back of the net with a classy left-footed finish.
