According to Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin, Yan Couto felt some discomfort during the training session and will be out for "between 10 and 14 days", meaning he will miss the most imminent matches.
The absence of the former Girona player adds to those already known forwards Karim Adeyemi and Julien Duranville, both out with muscle strains suffered against Dinamo Zagreb in the previous Champions League matchday.
At the same press conference, the Turkish coach said that three other players - defenders Niklas Sule and Julian Ryerson and forward Maximilian Beier - are also unavailable due to illness, although he hopes to have them available for the upcoming games.
"It will be a race against time, but we hope they will be available on Friday," said Sahin, whose side will open Bundesliga matchday seven against St Pauli at Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park before a rematch of last season's Champions League final against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
