Wojciech Szczesny has been one of the biggest talking points in the football world in recent weeks after signing for Barcelona. Retired last summer, Ter Stegen's injury opened the door for the Pole and the temptation was too great to turn down.
As he prepares for his return to action, the goalkeeper was present at the recent Nations League clash between Poland and Portugal on Saturday. There he met among others Cristiano Ronaldo, who was his teammate between 2018 and 2021 at Juventus.
The two players, while Ronaldo took photos with some young fans, shared a few words in which the Portuguese star congratulated the Polish goalkeeper on his recent move to Barcelona, although he did so with an unexpected dig at the Serie A side.
"You had to retire to go to a big club," Ronaldo told Szczesny. The video of the conversation between the two players quickly went viral, especially in Italy, where their words against Juventus have caused a stir.
