Manchester City did not have their best performance against Real Madrid. The Cityzens suffered a typical 'Los Blancos' comeback on Champions League nights and will have to travel to the Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg having to come from behind.
In addition, the Sky Blues have once again been hit by injuries at a crucial time, something that has been happening to them on a regular basis this season. Both Grealish, who was replaced by Foden in the first half, and Akanji, who was replaced at half-time by Lewis, suffered injuries against Real Madrid.
The Swiss defender will be sidelined for a few weeks with a muscle injury and will therefore miss the second leg against 'Los Blancos' as reported by journalist Paul Hirst.
For his part, Jack Grealish uploaded a post to Instagram with the caption “Hopefully the injury is not too bad”, but it is not yet known if the English winger will be available against the 'Merengues'.
