Latest reports from the 'Athletic' claim that Ruben Amorim opted not to meet Ruud van Nistelrooy face-to-face before excluding him from his coaching staff. The new Manchester United boss jetted in on Monday to begin life at Old Trafford, though he has to wait for his visa to get approved before being able to officially get to work.
The former Sporting manager has taken over from Van Nistelrooy, who was appointed interim manager following Ten Hag's sacking. The Dutchman lead the Red Devils in four games - claiming victory three times and remaining unbeaten - but has now left the club as Amorim preferred to work with his own coaching staff.
As per the same report, the decision on the former striker's future at Man United was completely in the hands of Amorim. However, Van Nistelrooy's departure seemed likely the moment he was seen shaking hands with senior figures at Man United following the club's 3-0 victory over Leicester in his final game.
It is seemingly impossible for the pair to have met in person as Van Nistelrooy is believed to have left Carrington at around midday, while Amorim only arrived a few hours after - at around 13:45 GMT with most of his staff from Sporting Lisbon with him - Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido, Paulo Barreira, Emanuel Ferro, and Jorge Vital.
