Centre-back Ronald Araujo has decided that the best option is to undergo surgery to overcome the muscle injury he suffered at the Copa America. The player is already on his way to Finland, where he will undergo the operation on Monday.
Dr. Lasse Lempainen will operate on Ronald Araujo in Turku. The doctor has previously operated on other Barcelona players such as Alejandro Balde, Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati and Sergi Roberto.
Araujo, according to COPE journalist Victor Navarro, was accompanied by Barcelona's medical services and Dr Ricard Pruna, who is in charge of them. The player was also accompanied by his wife and agent.
Ronald Araujo has a long recovery ahead of him after the surgery. The central defender is expected to spend the next four months without playing, so everything suggests that he will not reappear until November or December, just before the end of 2024.
