Nevertherless, Liverpool boss Arne Slot has played down the injury, reassuring that he expects the player to be part of the squad ahead of the Reds' Champions League fixture midweek.
The club released an official statement , echoing the head coach's words on the Scottish full-back's fitness conditions. "I don't expect this to be a big problem, although you never know, but I think he just got a knock," said Slot on the statement. "End phase of the game, maybe he was a bit tired as well because the guy who came in - Forbs, I knew him, of course, from the Dutch competition - he made it a real fight for him".
The Dutch manager has stated that despite minor doubts, he is hopeful the player will be joining the team in Monday's training session. "He got a bit of a knock but I'm expecting him to be in training on Monday again, but let's wait [and see]," he explained.
