Arsenal have received a major boost as Bukayo Saka was back in the gym earlier on Monday after spending over a month on the sidelines. The Englishman is still recovering from a hamstring injury suffered in the 5-1 win over Crystal Palace on December 23.
Without Saka, who has scored 9 goals and provided 13 assists for Arsenal this season, the north London side have struggled for inconsistency in attack, recently more than ever due to the added injuries of Brazilian duo Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.
Having failed to bring in any reinforcements up front during the January transfer window means that the Gunners will be relying further on a quick return from their star players. Mikel Arteta admitted he was disappointed by the club's lack of activity in the winter market.
"We talked very openly about the intention to improve the squad if we had the capacity. With players with injuries, we've been impacted and we haven't achieved it. We are disappointed in that sense," the Spanish manager told reporters last week.
