"Arsenal played a part in Conte's departure"

Antonio Conte left Tottenham "by mutual agreement" after 16 months in charge and he will be replaced by his assistant Cristian Stellini until the end of the season. In fact, Stellini previously stood in for Conte on the touchline this season when the Italian was recovering from gallbladder surgery.
Arsenal legend Martin Keown gave his opinion on Spurs' current situation and believes Arsenal played a part in Conte's departure: "I think they should have kept Conte until the end of the season, no doubt," he said on 'talkSPORT'.
"I think Arsenal have played a part. The fact that the Gunners are 20 points clear of Tottenham and this time last year they were both in the run-in for the top-four places puts them under enormous pressure.
"But it's what happened in March. Going out of the FA Cup, what happened against AC Milan, the 3-3 game against Southampton... March was miserable for them. [Conte] knew he was going. He wanted to say, and needed to say, what was wrong at that football club and they need to take stock of that," he concluded.
