The Cristiano Ronaldo who played for Manchester United and became a true Premier League superstar, becoming in 2008 the first player in the domestic English competition to win the Ballon d'Or since Liverpool legend Michael Owen in 2001, shaped the childhoods of many children in England.
One of those children who grew up playing football with the former Real Madrid player as an idol was current Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, who recently revealed his admiration and respect for the Portuguese on the 'Men in Blazers' podcast.
"Personally I can't (imagine playing for as long as Ronaldo), and that's why I have so much respect for him," said the English winger, who has become a crucial player for Mikel Arteta's side.
"Obviously when I when I was younger, he was my idol, but now that I'm playing football professionally, I have even more respect for him, how he's managed to stay this disciplined and this focused and achieve everything he's achieved, so yeah he's special," he concluded.
