Arsenal have strengthened their midfield with the signings of Kai Havertz and Declan Rice but believe they still need more reinforcements for next campaign.
As a result, according to 'Calciomercato', the Gunners are keeping an eye on Inter Milan star Nicolo Barella. The 26-year-old has had a superb season in Serie A, scoring nine goals and assisting nine times in 52 competitive matches last season.
Nonetheless, the English club are aware that negotiations for his transfer will not be easy. The Italian midfielder has become a key player in Simone Inzaghi's squad. The Italian manager wants to keep him for next season.
For this reason, Mikel Arteta's side are willing to offer two players to secure Barella's services. Takehiro Tomiyasu, who has not played a prominent role this season due to a knee injury, and Folarin Balogun, who is being targeted by West Ham and Monaco, are being offered by Arsenal.
The Spanish boss has already been interested in the Inter player to replace Thomas Partey, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks.
