Atletico Women to play a friendly trophy against Ajax

On Saturday 24th August, Alcala de Henares will host the IV edition of the City of Alcala Trophy by MadCup, in which Atletico Madrid Women and Ajax Amsterdam will play against each other at the Alcala de Henares Sports Centre stadium at 10:30 am. The mayoress of the city of Alcala de Henares, Judith Piquet, who presided over the presentation of the tournament in the Capuchinos assembly hall, said that "this trophy will give us the opportunity to enjoy another month of August with the best elite women's football in Europe".
The councillor pointed out that it is "a privilege for the city, which, for the last four years, has been hosting this pioneering event in our country as the first major international pre-season women's football tournament", according to a press release sent to the media by the Consistory. Piquet recalled that "this trophy also comes at an important time for Alcala, as it coincides with the start of its fairs, making it another of the attractions to enjoy the city on its big days".
He also stressed that "this event allows us to strengthen ties with two very important institutions for Alcala and for this City Council, which understands sport as a dynamic element of our society and our economy".
