Conor Gallagher is Atletico Madrid's priority for the midfield, but if the signing is thwarted, the club has already found an alternative. Journalist Matteo Moretto reports that, should the Chelsea player reject their offer, they will go for Javi Guerra. He would already have the approval of Valencia, to whom he will pay 25 million.

Robin Le Normand and Alexander Sorloth are the two signings who, so far, have landed at the Metropolitano this summer. Atlético are also awaiting the signing of a midfielder.
Los Rojiblancos already have the go-ahead from Chelsea for the transfer of Conor Gallagher, the favourite for the position. However, the most important thing is missing: the approval of the player, who is not sure what to do.
Atletico, who already missed out on the signing of Dovbyk this summer, have learned their lesson and have moved quickly to tie down a plan B. Matteo Moretto claims that should Gallagher decline to join Atletico Madrid, the 'Colchoneros' would have secured the arrival of Javi Guerra.
Atletico Madrid would be willing to pay 25 million for the player and, in addition, Valencia would secure a percentage of a future sale. With this move, Atletico would gain a young player, only 21 years old, with a promising future ahead of him.
