Barcelona have announced their 28-man shortlist for the upcoming clash against Athletic Club in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals. Dani Olmo and Pau Victor have been included in Flick's squad despite the controversy surrounding their registrations. The Spanish Football Federation and La Liga have rejected the club's latest submission, leaving them with the sole option to go to court.
Olmo and Victor will travel to Saudi Arabia with the team, hoping that their situations will soon be resolved. Elsewhere in the squad to face Athletic, Marc Bernal's inclusion also comes as a surprise, given that he is still recovering from a serious injury suffered in August. The midfielder was reportedly keen on joining his teammates on the road to the Super Cup.
Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal, Hector Fort and Andreas Christensen have all returned from injury and will be in contention to feature on Wednesday at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. They all partook in Monday's training session ahead of their flight to the Middle East, though have not been cleared by the medical staff.
Goalkeepers: Inaki Pena, Szczesny and Ander Astralaga.
Defenders: Pau Cubarsi, Alejandro Balde, Ronald Araujo, Inigo Martinez, Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Hector Fort, Gerard Martin and Sergi Dominguez.
Midfielders: Gavi, Pedri, Pablo Torre, Fermin Lopez, Marc Casado, Frenkie de Jong and Marc Bernal*.
Forwards: Ferran Torres, Robert Lewandowski, Ansu Fati, Raphinha, Pau Victor, Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo and Toni Fernandez.
