Barcelona sporting director Anderson Luis de Souza, also known as Deco, said on Friday, a day after beating Osasuna (2-0) in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup being played in Saudi Arabia, that in Sunday's final against Real Madrid "there are no favourites".
"The club already won here last season and we are in an important moment of the season, in which we are confident in our game, happy and enjoying ourselves," Deco said in a statement to the club.
On the victory against Jagoba Arrasate's side, the former Barca player stressed that "it was important to take the step towards the final" and that "it was a tough game because Osasuna are a great team".
Against Real Madrid, the Catalan side will be playing in their first final of the campaign, against the very team against whom they won their first title in the previous campaign with a 3-1 victory.
"It will always be a special game against this opponent. They are in a great moment, they had a great semi-final against Atletico and are leading La Liga by playing well," he said.
Deco said that Barcelona "are fighting for all the titles they can play for" and assured that the club wants to "win La Liga, go as far as possible and, if possible, win the Champions League and the Copa del Rey".
Xavi Hernandez will not be able to count on Raphinha, who was forced off against Osasuna with a muscle injury, in the final. "We have suffered with injuries throughout the season. It's difficult because it's a lot of games at the top level, but we're a bit used to them," Deco lamented.
"It's a pity for Raphinha, but we've got Pedri back," added the Barca sporting director.
