Time is running out to complete the renovations of the Camp Nou as the Barcelona City Council have handed the club a deadline until May 2025 to use the Olimpico Lluis Companys. After the 1st of May, the stadium will need to be cleared as it will be used for other events.

Barcelona would have liked to celebrate their 125th anniversary at their home ground this month, however, with the Spotify Camp Nou not ready yet, that wish is unlikely to be fulfilled. Works at the stadium have gone past the various deadlines set over the past months and the City Council have taken note of it and decided to intervene.
The Catalan giants will no longer be able to extend their deadlines as the Barcelona City Council have given the club until the 1st of May to clear the Olimpico Lluis Companys - or Montjuic. The decision was made following a meeting with the club, in which they were told that they will not be allowed to use the stadium past that deadline.
The 'Azulgrana' have been informed that a series of cultural events, activities and concerts are scheduled at the Montjuic, and time will therefore be required to make the respective installments. This means that renovations at the Camp Nou must be completed by the end of April the latest.
This deadline falls within the limit that Barcelona have imposed on Limak - the construction company that is carrying out the works in their home ground - before penalty charges start to apply. For the time being, Barcelona look set to be back at the Spotify Camp Nou in February. UEFA regulation also correspond, as a change of stadium during the Champions League league-phase is not permitted. The league-phase will not end until January 29th when Flick's men host Atalanta.
