Bayern close the door on Davies' possible Real Madrid move
After a week in which reports have intensified that Alphonso Davies is set to join Real Madrid next summer, the Bayern Munich president has come out swinging to make it clear that his intention is to keep him.

When Carlo Ancelotti looks at his options at left-back, he sees Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia. The Frenchman has not enjoyed all the regularity he would have needed to convince him, partly because of injuries. The Spaniard seems to be his second choice, but what if Alphonso Davies was also available? That is the question they are asking themselves at the Madrid side, whose bosses have read in this week's press how reports of a possible deal with Bayern Munich have intensified.
In Bavaria, the matter is not a laughing one. The German side's president Herbert Hainer responded to the 'Merengues' interest in their player with a clear statement to journalist Maximilian Koch: "He has a contract until 2025 and has become, for us, one of the best defenders in the world. Of course we want him to stay and I hope he wants that too.
If the Germans are unable to extend their young star's commitment, then 'Los Blancos' could make a low offer next summer, taking advantage of the fact that the Germans' alternative would be to see their defender leave for free a season later. Moreover, such a campaign would take place with the defender potentially unhappy with his situation if he is deprived of a move he seems to welcome.
For Real Madrid, it would be a great deal to sign Alphonso Davies for a kind figure or even for free. His current market value is 54.5 million euros. In the past, there have already been nice moves from Munich to the Spanish side. Toni Kroos, a club legend, arrived for just 25 million ueros. David Alaba, a relatively recent addition, joined as a free agent.
