The World Cup is an opportunity for players to make themselves well known across the world. That was the case with James Rodriguez in 2014 and the latest to do that might have been Emiliano Martinez.
'BBC Sport' reports that Bayern Munich are interested in buying the 30 year-old Argentine. The Bundesliga outfit apparently want Martinez to fill in for Manuel Neuer, who will miss the rest of the campaign through injury.
Emiliano Martinez has been linked with Atletico Madrid, whose coach is his compatriot Diego Simeone. This interest came about because Atletico were worried Oblak might not renew.
Martinez's Aston Villa contract expires in summer 2027. Due to this, Bayern will have to negotiate with Villa's big wigs before talking to the player.
