Belgium press fears Courtois will be missed at the Euros

The Belgian press praises the decisive role of Madrid goalkeeper Courtois in last night's Champions League final victory, and bemoans his absence from Belgium's squad for Euro 2024 due to a poor relationship with coach Domenico Tedesco.
"Dear Domenico, four days left to convince Thibaut" is the headline in the sports daily ‘La Derniere Heure Les Sports’, which urges the coach to rebuild his relationship with the goalkeeper before definitively confirming the squad for the European Championship.
'Le Soir' points the finger at Courtois and regrets that his absence from the squad announced on Tuesday by Tedesco is due to the goalkeeper's “misplaced ego”.
Belgian French-language broadcaster ‘RTBF’ praises Los Blancos goalkeeper for the form in which he has returned to action after two long-term injuries forced him to miss most of the season.
"The record is simply impeccable: 5 games, 0 goals conceded and 424 minutes unbeaten. All the more reason to be worried about Euro 2024...", reports RTBF in its online edition.
Courtois got angry a year ago with Tedesco, the coach who took over the Belgian national team after the departure of Roberto Martinez, for a gesture that the goalkeeper understood as a snub to his hierarchy, left the training camp and since then the tension between the two has not diminished.
The Real Madrid goalkeeper will not be with Belgium at the European Championship, unless there is a last-minute surprise, as the goalkeeper himself announced last December, renouncing the right to play in the tournament but not to continue to be called up after the summer.
"He was honest, he was clear. He knows his body (...) The latest information we have is that he is not ready for the European Championship," Tedesco told a press conference after announcing his squad list.
