Bennacer out for Milan, 6 months for knee operation
AC Milan put out an official statement on it's web page stating Ismael Bennacer underwent a knee operation on Tuesday morning, which will put him out of action for 6 months.

AC Milan will play on Tuesday to try and secure themselves a spot in the Champions League finals. The 'Rossoneri' side wil try to mount a comeback against their greatest local rivals, Inter, who lead them 0-2 after the first leg.
On the same day, the club made it known that Ismael Bennacer, who injured his right knee in the first game of the derby, will be out of action for 6 months after undergoing surgery to repair the cartilage in his knee.
The footballer had to travel to Lyon to undergo an arthroscopy performed by Dr Bertrand Sonnery Cottet. We won't see the Algerian again until next season.
In this 2022/23 season, the central midfielder, a key player in Pioli's squad, played 40 games, starting 34 of them, has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists. In total he played 2704 minutes.

The repair of the cartilage lesion was successfully performed by Dr. Bertrand Sonnery Cottet in the presence of AC Milan's club doctor, Dr. Stefano Mazzoni. The recovery time is estimated to be at least six months".
