Blues legend Gary Cahill claims Chelsea 'need time and patience'

Chelsea legends once again wore the Blues shirt at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea legends beat Bayern legends 4-0 in a charity match whose proceeds will be donated to the fight against cancer.
Essien opened the scoring for the English team and John Terry extended the lead for the home side. Gary Cahill added a third and finally Tiago Mendes rounded off the victory with a fine chipped finish.
However, what their legends delivered is a far cry from what is currently being produced by Todd Boehly's club, who finished the 2022/23 Premier League in 12th place, their worst finish since 1993/94. Pochettino's side have also not made an incredible start to the current campaign with two wins, a draw and a defeat in their first four domestic games.
Blues legend Gary Cahill was asked about the club's poor form, to which he responded: "I'm quite disappointed in terms of the results but as I said before, the average age of the squad is very, very young. It's a new squad that's been put together. A lot of them have not got a huge experience in football and also certainly not in the Premier League.
"That will take time. This is a very hard league. Bundles of talent. This will obviously take time to put this group together. New faces, new players that don't know the league and who are expected to play straight away. I think that's a bit ambitious. Time and patience," concluded the former England centre-back.
